Not quite a résumé. Not quite a memoir.
More like a creative journey with a few plot twists.
It all began around ’89 in London, when I stepped out of the University of East London with a graphic arts degree, a D&AD award, and a black A1 portfolio—the kind that told the waiting public I was serious about design.

First stop: i-D Magazine. Then a string of roles in publishing, eventually landing as Art Editor at Creative Review and Design Week—back when print still ruled and tea was just a cup of non-artisan PG Tips.

The next chapter took me into agencies, large and small, before I launched my own studio: Propellor. The name made its way into the music world, designing sleeves and covers for LTJ Bukem and the devoted 12” vinyl crowd.

But creative satisfaction doesn’t always pay the bills. So came a pivot into the tech sector with some friends and a marketing company called M-Drive, creating campaigns for HP, Canon, and Toshiba—back when they were inventing the future. The agency grew into a 170-person machine. Then it was acquired by a much bigger machine… which was then acquired by an even bigger one.

And just like that, it was time to move on.

What followed was the creation of a fashion brand: Modern Ape and Army of No!—a global expedition in its own right. Our high-end streetwear collections found their way to Harrods and Barneys. Remote work turned into stretches in Japan, China, and Sydney. Eventually, love (and a return to pure creativity) brought me to Copenhagen.

There was a chapter as Co-Creative Director at one of Denmark’s biggest agencies, Adpeople. But these days, the story continues independently—with projects spanning branding, campaigns, storytelling, and product creation.
